Building an update client

It takes less than 5 minutes to build the update client. Follow these easy steps:

1. Select the client view

All update client settings are configured in this tab.

2. Project settings

Begin by settings project properties. These include your company name and web-site, your application's executable and most importantly the update server (you can use an HTTP, HTTPS, FTP or a file server).

3. Resources

Typically you would want to define messages, graphics and icons as per your requirements.

4. Actions

Actions define how the update client should behave. Here you can enable logging, define the frequency of update checks and whether cancelled updates should reprompt the user. Note also that you can set a security code to protect the integrity of the configuration files that you will deploy for each update.

5. Build and Deploy!

You can now build the update client and deploy it with your application. That's it! A 5 minute job, and your application will now have a highly flexible update management capability.
