Test

Use the configuration tool's inbuilt testing facility. It will make testing significantly easier by automatically setting up and deleting the test files for each test instance.

Below is an explanation of the various test screen features:

Test type: Define the type of test to launch. This launches the client with the relevant command-line options.
Options: · A clean test causes all the files in the test directory to be automatically deleted. This ensures that an update will always be forced (otherwise nothing will happen until you push out further updates). · Using the local directory gets the update client to use the local drive as the file source. This allows you to test without forcing you to upload files to your production server.
The status window shows the current update client task. This is the same information that is available in the update client log file. Use it for debugging.
